Our Mission

To honor caregivers and support Lewy Body Dementia research, Root & Light Co. was created from the real experiences of caregiving — the long nights, the repeating questions, the exhaustion, and the love that remains even when memory fades. We are here to honor the caregivers who continually show up and to help fuel LBD research, because care is sacred and hope is worth fighting for. Dementia has touched many of the people I love — my grandmother, my aunts and uncles, family friends, and now my dad. I’ve watched them fight for themselves in ways most people will never see. And I’ve seen the people who love them show up — tired, heartbroken, steady — because that’s what love does. A few years ago, I stepped away from my career to learn how to care for my dad in the most loving way I could, as his daughter. I am not his primary caregiver — my mom carries that role with so much strength, patience, and love. I walk beside her, supporting her as we face the hard days together. And there are many. I’ve experienced the grace-filled moments alongside the ones that break you open, where grief and love coexist. This disease asks for more than seems human some days. And still — love stays. Somewhere in that season, I found myself returning to flowers. Their softness and resilience reflect the caregiving journey — tender, imperfect, real. A quiet act of tending, again and again. Root & Light Co. grew from that place, from the hands that keep holding and the hearts that refuse to walk away. From the love that bends but does not break. I’m here to honor caregivers — the quiet heroes — and to help support dementia research, because families deserve better answers. Because hope matters.
